If you love spicy flavors this vegan recipe is for you, tempeh in this way is transformed and becomes really greedy and tasty.
Ingredients for 2 portions:
- 150g diced tempeh
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce (or similar, spicy)
- 1/2 teaspoon miso paste
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon of chili paste
- 125ml unsweetened almond or coconut milk
Accompanying sauce:
- 2 teaspoons of soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of white vinegar
- A few chopped peppers
- 1 lime, the juice
Preparation:
- Cut the tempeh into cubes and mix it in a bowl with all the marinade ingredients. Let it marinate for at least an hour (or overnight). Save some of the marinade to pour over the cooking tempeh.
- Make the side sauce by mixing the soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, chili and lime juice
- Insert the tempeh cubes onto the skewers and cook them on the hot grill for 6-8 minutes on each side until they brown well. If they seem too dry, brush them with the reserved marinade.
- Serve them with the hot sauce and lime wedges accompanied, if you like, with white rice.
